Kick Off

Besmillah ...

First of all, welcome to Washed Ashore - my personal blog. I hope this is not your last stop here. If I don't make it to your list of favorite or most visited blogs, I hope boredom will at least wash you ashore to here. Boredom?!.. Heh, what a desparate start. Anyhow, here are some Whats and Whys:

- Okey ... So Why Go Personal?
To begin with, thanks to Mubtade'e for getting me into this world: blogging. I started off reading his blog, then Zaydoun and Kuwaitism, and then we created Sa7at Alsafat. I enjoy Sa7at Alsafat since I'm a politics junkie. However, I sometimes had some loud thoughts for which Sa7at Alsafat was not the best medium. Also, Sa7at Alsafat has taken a unique theme since it was launched that differentiated it from other blogs. So I didn't want to compromise that.

At the same time, I was reluctant about publishing my own personal blog because I'm the laziest when it comes to writing. Not only am I lazy, but I'm also a "reactive" writer as opposed to a "proactive" one.

Anyway, I said I'll just give it a try and see how it goes. Hopefully seeing you repeat your visits will put the pressure on me to be active. Or hopefully I'm active enough to keep you tuned. I don't know .. It's one of those chicken-and-egg things. We'll see.

- Why Jandeef For a Nickname?
I never really put much thought when I registered with Blogger. Jandeef was the first to pop on my mind. I really didn't think I'd get interested in blogging this much, but now I am. So I'm stuck with Jandeef, and to tell the truth, I like it.

- What Does Jandeef Mean?
Jandeef (or Yandeef) means fearless. I have absolutely no idea whether this word really exists. A friend of mine, Mohammed, had a boat that he named "Jandeef." I asked him what it meant and he said it meant that his boat was fearless. A wave crusher. Sails across waves rather than along them. And I never attempted to look it up or ask about it. I'll do that some time soon. So stay tuned if you care to find out.

One more note: Bu-Jasim, if you're reading, thanks for the inspiration.

- Why Washed Ashore?
After a 5 minute brainstorming, this is what I came up with. As I said above, the least I wish for is that the blogging world washes you ashore to here to drop a comment. Secondly, hopefully it goes well with my friend's Jandeef-boat analogy. Boat - Shore ... hmm maybe some connection even if it doesn't make sense. Third, hopefully it becomes the shore that my thoughts wash to.

I envy you guys who think proactively and express yourselves, in writing, very interestingly. I hope this blog will make me a better writer and better opinionated.

That's it for a kickoff. I don't know how long this blog will last or how well it'll be known, but i'll let it go with the flow and see if I'm a blogger by nature.

Thanks for stopping by and putting up. Please come back again =)

Thank y'all.

Sloth,

Please keep visiting SS. I'll still be there. And let's see what you got on your blog.
--------

Mubtade'e,

I still have the Manifesto's link saved. I promise will read it someday but i'm afraid you'll corrupt my brain. You Marxist :P
------

Rasheed,

I won't neglect SS. Inshalla I'll have arabic whenever convenient. It's just that sometimes something is better expressed in English.
------

Bo Salim,

Lol. No You're Kidding! Okey everybody.. 3 years ago Bo Salim and I bought a giant book shelf that comes with assembly instruction. And he still hasn't assembled it :/
-------

Shosho,

Thanks for stopping by. Politics will still be mainly on SS. Check out my latest post there about Sharar.
--------------

NYChick,

Allah ebarik feech. Yea nicknames sometimes pop up and ur stuck with them. But that's good, you create a character for the nickname, better than vise-versa.
---------------

Bo Maryoom, Shurouq, and Bader,

Allah Ebarik feek. Please come again =).
-------------

ForzaQ8,

Damn man. Okey my cover is blown. yes =( it's me. I launched this blog coze i was banned from issuing Fatawi in Saudi Arabia and Bulgary.
